We’re David & Richard Galloway, a father and son partnership focusing on people photography, mostly weddings and portraits, with some occasional fashion & art/figure work.
Our style
Our wedding photography has three threads – group family shots (about 20 minutes), some beautiful shots of the two of you (again around 20 minutes) and the rest of the day doing reportage photography.
So what exactly is Reportage Photography? Well, the term (attractive as it is!) is mostly used to describe the process of capturing the story of your day in an unobtrusive, discreet manner – so that when you see the results, you will be seeing the story of the day told through the eyes of a guest. Pictures with a sense of perspective – who was there, the location, a sense of the mood of the moment.
But we want to do more than that; we want your images to be artistic and striking as well as informal, pictures that invoke emotion, pictures that stop you.
Some trivial facts about David:
- in his mid 20s he quit his job in IT for a year and hitch hiked through Africa – started in Cape Town and after 100 lifts and 7,000 miles finished in Ethiopia.
- after leaving the computer industry 8 years ago he spent 4 weeks on a cookery course, at Tant Marie, Woking (his wife’s idea, and an excellent one)
-in 2002 he did a solo cycle trip across the States on a recumbent trike – the picture is at journey’s end in San Diego
And about Richard
- loves cars, music, films, travel, and most of all his family
- met his wife-to-be while cycling up the East coast of Australia – and just celebrated his fourth anniversary and the birth of his daughter
- a football fan – but sometimes wishes he wasn’t
